Hi,
Its "just" an electrical contact switch. Nothing exotic about it except its very old and expensive to purchase.
You of course would need many other turn signal related parts and a knowledge of wiring to install them. The only concern I'd have is the amperage of turn signals PLUS that of the semaphores, if that is you plan, and if the switch could handle the current without damage.
To simply use one or the other I don't see why not.
If you do wish to use both you might consider putting in a relay to carry the higher current, use the switch to activate the relay and thus protect your valuable switch from damage.
