I've heard of VW get togethers (in America) at In and Out drive thru restaurants---but did you know you there is a secret menu above and beyond the only four items on the regular menu?
Check it out:

Just what the world needs: Even fatter versions of fast food.

I was just informed that VW stopped making Bugs in Mexico! I am also hearing rumors of VW Trends going out of business.

Does anyone know if In and Out still has an "Honesty Policy"?

If you didn't have enuf $, you could come back tomorrow? Or was that just an urban legend?

I was at a Sacramento Bugorama, and the night before, there was an impromptu meeting of VW people at the In N Out on Sunrise Highway, in Rancho Cordova. There was a skinny (maybe 165-170 pounds) kid working the counter. When he went on lunch break, he ordered a 12x12 animal style. I didn't think he had the strength to even carry the damn thing, much less to eat it. But in the course of his 1/2 hour lunch, he ate the whole damn thing.
I swear, there was 1/2 a damn cow there....

My sister-in-law works for the corporate office. They have all kinds of stuff on the 'secret' menu. If you can tell by some of sarcasm already posted here - its not much of a secret anymore.

Animal fries, protein style (no bread - burger is wraped in lettuce instead), "the flying dutchman" (meat surrounded by cheese only), nepolitan shakes (all three flavors mixed together), extra crispy fries, grilled cheese, etc, etc..

There are only so many ways to do it. I think I OD'd on In-n-out burgers. I haven't had one since moving to Boston and don't really miss them. But come to think of it, a burger sounds good about now... :-k

It's true, it happened to me after I was in the drivethru and realized I had no cash. They gave me the food and asked that "when you come back again pay us then".

But since the owners died, somethings are changing.

I feel like having an In-n-Out burger here (Denver) would be a double edged sword. I usually only get to eat there once or twice a year when I'm in Cali or Vegas and I think I would overload on it and then get burnt out if it was local. As it stands now, I still consider it the king of the burger joints with no equal. Having ready access to it might change that.

3/10/07: the Sunset blvd location in Hollywood was the last time I ate there. It wouldn't be so memorable if it was just down the street.
