| Cheap? What do you mean by cheap? The PO of my square paid ME $2000 to take it off his hands. I tried to hold out for more but he wouldn't budge. |

OK, I just reread the whole ad because I still cant believe the price. After reading about all the "NOS" stuff and a beat up tranny I would like to change my bid to $3000 tops. Looks like it might have been hit too since the passenger fender is from a 68 69.
I saw this car when he had a long time ago for around $2200. I went to see it because he said it was original paint. It was not. Rusty (for AZ), crappy repaint, hit in front (see fender), everything is rotted from the AZ sun.
The seller is an ok guy but his prices are often crazy on what he posts here.
I have bought parts from him in the past for fair prices and am happy with my purchases. |

Mama used to say-"stupid is as stupid does".
Speaking of stupid. Alot of these far fetched prices are contribed by our desire for the parts. Like those seat recliners. The seller knows he has a hot item, because we said it was in numerous posts. What is not hot is the inflated price for them. |

This is what I was hoping for. By the way is anyone else surprised at someone attempting to get $20K (recently as high as $25K) for this chopped ride:

I know you're paying more for the name, but come on.....really? Half the allure of VW's is paying next to nothing for a fantastic piece of German engineering (and the parts to keep it going)! |

NOS.
Bug ones are a dime/dozen.
$1500 is high but if they were under $1000 I think they would sell quickly. |

I win.
The highlights -
$45k cash. 2 nice buses (1 mint, 1 daily). trade for a 23 window (plus your 10k cash). 2700cc motor. (um no). 1000 made?! Etc. the guy was clueless, but serious. He swears type 3 detectives told him he has the only one. I bet they rolled when they got off the phone. |

Only 1 what? Euro '69? That is not true.
He would have to give me that car plus $10K cash and would still get a rusty 21 or 23-window in return. |

So, is that dent in the passenger door free or is that extra? |

| That's a "euro only" dent modification. Very Rare! |
