I did see this car up close at the Classic a few years ago. It was very nice then and Angel is a stand up guy and easy to deal with when I bought some parts from him.

This is EXACTLY why people should be patient when looking for a car!

Super clean RHD 62? Yes, please!

So whats the spec of a "S model" that early?

There was no "S" model designation as of 1962. The "N" or "S" designations didn't come along until the 1964 model year, production beginning in August of 1963.

Yeah, but to the average "I'm looking for a type 3" person, that looks rather expensive and not all too special.

"those people" should have to start with a Fastback...preferably a 68 or 69.

I've been here, officially, for a couple of years and have only seen a handful of cars that were worth what the seller was asking (complete, early cars). I wish I'd been more patient...but I'm a Type A and it's not in the scope of my personality.

I went to see a '63 Squareback he was selling years ago.
I thought he was really straight-forward about that car, to the point where he told me some things that made me not want to buy the car.
(Not original enough for me)

I saw this car once at a show and it was really nice.
I didn't remember it being repainted as it had the look of an original paint car - misc. paint wear, etc. It looks much shinier in those photos than when I saw it.

Well that's whats I thought, so why is he selling it as a "S model" :?

That '62 RHD Square is nice. I'd love to have that. It's too bad it's $17,000 more than I like to pay for rare Type 3s...

But there's a problem with an "Australian '62": they don't seem to exist!

Initially Australian could only buy the 'Notchback' and 'Squareback' versions. The 'Fastback was fully imported until 1968, when all three versions were locally assembled.

Seem to me anybody that gets a car from Australia, presumes its a "Australian model"

Seem to me with the age of this car its simple a RHD 62 variant.

Just seems to me if you add RHD, S model and Australian model to a car for sale in the USA you can bump the price way up.

I emailed the seller to ask about him describing it as a "s model" and no reply so far.

Awesome. Lots of interest in early squares lately. I think they're beginning to have their moment in the sun.

It's not an Australian-built car as far as I know.

It doesn't look like a '62 either, unless you mean built in 1962.
I see dual rear seat heater vents in

It's seems more like a "they're selling theirs so I'll try to sell mine" kinda of scenario.

Yep. Ive learned the hard way to keep my mouth shut and or limit the amount of cool stuff one finds as it seems there is a direct correlation to sharring on the internet of cool shit no one sees - and the availablity and pricing of said items

I don't care, it's just nice to see so many really early squares coming out of hiding.
