i went for a drive yesterday with cash in hand and a tow dolly in tow and left without the car.it is the sadest car i have ever seen here in florida.the car is definatley worth the money it can be bought for though.if you want a garage full of parts that need tending to and storing then this is for you.it is strickly a parts car and never will be restored.i have seen some pretty amazing work and this car would need more than that.
-wrong engine
-crank start handle
-good speedo pod and switches
-early trans cradle is there
-seats in real rough there but frames savable
-3 spoke steering wheel and a column
-wooped batwing and horn button
-crotch cooler was welded up or panel replaced on passenger side
-all glass was good and logoed except for frt a nd rear
-incorrect wheels
-incorrect taillights
-incorrect headlights
-comes with good working clock but was not there to see
-hood crest
-woodslat rack not super early though
-spare 36hp blco and heads
-87mm pistons and cylinders(cofap)
i think the car was mixed with a oval or something because bob(owner)was saying the chassis was also incorrect.i hope this helps anyone thinking they found a cheap split and knowone else knows of this car.i used to work for him back in the mid 90's and knew about the car but it wasnt that bad then and it has turned into a big waste since.

If the body has panels that are usable, I'm sure there are some ppl that would buy the car.

Samba user "Wolfbug" is restoring a Hebmuller, maybe he could use some of the metal.

Or maybe "Rich's 50".

DAMN! I remember you were saying you needed a full front clip for a vert, and though good luck.. How far that thing must have come.

a heb is considered to be a little more desirable than a split and i know nice splits can be bought running and driving for the 25k range and this particular car will need more than that to make it solid again so you would have had to have gotten your first peice of ass in the car to feel that emotional about the particular car to want to restore it.dont get me wrong if it was a 54 bus i would have had pictures of it in my driveway and would have bought it just on the fact of the parts are useable to me but it is a beetle and that is another animal in itself.i really feel that it should be sold to a beetle guy and used to put a car that might be missing some the items back on the road with correct stuff.i could have very easily rolled it on my tow dolly and left with it but like i said i wanted to pass on the car to let some that needs parts only and not looking for a whole beater like i was...

actually i looked again at your gallery and the split you used to have was still on the showroom floor compared to this car.and actually your car is black now, right?well it looked alot better the way you had it...that car was actually decent looking in the blue color.

Yea, its the same pile, only black now....

The blue is 99% of why I sold it.... After the first day it made me sick.

its just paint...that can be changed in an afternoon.this car would take all year to make a dent in changing it...but it is still easily worth in parts what it can be bought for.
