Hi, people, i have been looking on here for years, but have moved on a few cars in that time to now an 56 Oval. I am curious my books dont bring this up. But what is that electrical push nob for to the left of the clutch.
Easy question for you hardened lot, hard for me. cheers

Do you think this has been bypassed, i havnt checked it but the light swith on the dash if you pull twice give high beam as well. sorry just to add would this nob be used to flash to let people go etc. cheers

Normally the pull switch on the dash first turns on the parking lights and the second pull turns on the head lights. Once the headlights are on, then the foot switch turns on/off the high beams.

Sounds like the wiring has been played with.

Thanks all. The second pull brings on the main lights, but i havnt tries this knob yet to see what it does so i will give it a go and check the wiring back. Thanks for your help.
