I'm curious as to what is the acceptable time frame from the time that payment is received by the seller to ship an item? Is it acceptable to wait 7 days or more from the time the payment is received to ship the item to the buyer?
Should the seller tell the buyer up front if there will be a shipping delay or what the shipping arrangements will be?
Just trying to find out what is common on TheSamba. |

I think it depends on the part. For something large that may require packaging and delivery to the shipping point, 7 days may not be unreasonable.
Regardless of what it is, the seller should let you know when the part will be shipped. After I receive payment, I send the person a thank you and tell them "It will be shipped tomorrow" or "It will be shipped on Wednesday".
If there is a delay, I give them the new ship date.
I don't usually tell people how something will be shipped but if it's Fed Ex Ground they get the tracking # so it's obvious. |

| When I need something fast I ask up front when they can ship it before I make a deal and send the payment. |

| What I have always done and will continue to do is....take the pics then box it up ( and write what's in there) then when someone wants it....setup an account on USPS.com and they will pickup from your house, shop anywhere for free...and I will only ship priority mail, and its actually cheaper than UPS (for the buyer). ......Hey its gotten me good feedback this far |
