I need some advice here on how to resolve this. I have american eagle 5 lugs with 4 lug to 5 lug wheel adapters on a '71 super, all was working fine till I went to install the disc conversion kit from cip1. Now the wheel adapters are hitting the calipers!!!
What should I do, I'm not really in love with these wheels, but from what i'm seeing it will cost $800+ to get a set of decent 4 lug wheels. I really don't want to put drums back on just so I can have these silly 5 lug wheels(they were on the car when I purchased it), what are my options? |

I am running an American wheel spacer behind my adapter to use my five spokes. It is about 3/8 of an inch thick. The spacer will bring the adapter away from the caliper. And I also machined off 7/16 of an inch of of the back of the 5 spokes (the pedestals that contact the drum or adapter).

And here is the Eagle before I machined it.
