| I guess I should be kicking myself for not buying it when the old guy offered it to me for $100 back in '93. |

Crusty old Buses can and should be saved if the under-structure isn't too far gone. My '57 here would have been considered nearly a basket case by most "normal" people (actually, its in amazing shape underneath, rot mostly in front valence and front floor). It was going to the crusher, a friend got it for $100, I bought it from him gladly for $800 in March of this year, have been working on it steadily, it'll be back on the road within a year.
As I saw it for the first time
As it looks now, with many unseen repairs and improvements
Doesn't it look happier? :D |

| I'd say late 56 to early 57. It is a non wolfsburg bus, doesn't have the tube tranny carrier. I'd just grab the parts the entire frame is like crackers. |

Honestly,
Id say try and save it. but it is pretty bad. thing is, 55-58 busses arent falling out of trees. so i say it would be best to have someone get it who would save it. BUT.....
IF you get it out of there and start parting it, PLEASE contact me.
I have several early busses that need parts this one has.
Id buy the seat frame, driver door, rear engine lid, parcel tray, and the list goes on.

Tim MacDonald wrote: has no seats.just junk inside.any suggestions how to get it out of there?Should I jack it up first and put boards under it?any place that I should put the jack under?
For jacking up the front i jack it up in the middle of the beam.
I have a special 4"x6" piece of wood that I notched to clear the swing lever pin.
Another sturdy place to jack up a bus is at the place the spring plate bolts on.
Sometimes it is tricky with the tire, though.
Jacking it up at the tranny cradle.
In this bus the tranny cradle is circular in cross section, becasue it is a Wolfsbrug bus.
Later buses have a U cross section for the tranny cradle. |

If I could pick that up for a few hundred buck, I'd be all over it.
It may well be a parts bus. But is looks pretty complete, and has some Gucci stuff.
Even stuff like the dash switches and the shift linkage ect are nice to have.
When I scrounge for parts off an all you can eat bus, if I have the time I'll strips it down to the bones. Then crack the bones and suck the marrow out. That's just cause I driven old buses for years and keep finding that there are other bits to be replaced, that wear out or rust. |

I would be up for saving it, and I'm only like an hour and a half away!
PM me if you feel like passing on this one.
Thanks
