| For $375.00, you might as well consider getting an original one. |

Yeah I know, but both cheaper than the advertised prices when they came out earlier this summer.
And yes, $375 will get you a pretty nice original.... |

I meant the seller in those ads was selling them for significantly less than the manufacturer and other apparent "distributors". Not saying that the manufacturer was selling them for less, nor that they were worth less. I have seen them firsthand and they are very nice.
But makes me wonder why someone would sell one, apparently unused, for $150-$200 less than the manufacturer?
May be meaningless, was just an observation.... |

I'm with Rich on this. My car has it's original lid but as I'm going to be running a little bit bigger than stock engine  I'm going to buy one of these so I can leave out the rain catcher in order to supply the eng bay with more air.
I've just read all pages with interest as it begs the question where does one stop? When I see a full on stock concours car and spot any part that is not original german, then for me, it doesn't matter whether it's a repop decklid or repop window rubber (which most have). It's the end result that counts, and that is the car looks as close as possible the way it left the factory.
I think these decklids look fantastic and can't wait for the 53-55 Vert lid to become available. However, as bit of a panel gap and door jam fanatic, I would be interested in seeing photos of one actually fitted to a car as this for me is as much a test of how good the item is as looking at it on the showroom floor. |

There's a BIG difference between re-pop rubber and a re-pop Vert deck lid........... REAL BIG. |
