Here's mine:
Three canvas bags of stuff that fits behind my passenger's seat between the battery and the seat:
Bag #1.....
Spare parts and gear:
Clutch cable
Throttle cable
Plug Wire
Coil WIre
Alternator belt
15' of 14 gauge wire
Duct Tape
Zip Ties
Can of Fix-a-Fat
3 Emergency Flares
Jumper Cables
Spare alternator pulley
Bungee cords
Silicone sealant
Fuel filter
Spare fuses and wire terminal assortment
009 complete with elect ignition
Lighter
CV bolts
Hose clamps
Coil
Tow strap
Electrical tape
Ratcheting tie down
Bag #2....
Air compressor with hose. There's also a tire gauge in there that I forgot to take out. This comes in handy every time I go out to air up the tires after I air them down to 15 PSI hit the trails.
Bag #3....
Assorted tools
I'm getting home some way, some how, if I break down. If not, I'm not gonna die trying!
I used to carry a spare CV, too, but I haven't picked one up yet since I witched to 930's. |

Doesn't look like it's been mentioned yet so I'll chime in.
Add a stretched out metal hanger (or other long metal, slightly bendable rod thingy) tucked inside your bumpers (one or both) and a slim-jim type thingy in your engine bay. (maybe even a lockpick set on you or in an external compartment type thingy and/or a spare key magnetically attached to something.
Because some how, some way...those bloody keys manage to stay inside the car....
EDIT: Granted this *is* in the Offroad section (which I just noticed) so this might not be a huge problem...especially for open air buggies and such :-/ |

um lets see. air compressor, duct tape, electrical tape, assortmant of tools, heims joints, zip ties and i think thats about it.
the only times it has ever not been fixed while in the dirt was when the fuel injection points got dirty (could have fixed it but we were unsure of the problem and tired), and the time i bent an axle, still drove it onto the trailer.
you guys know the more problems your ready for the more your gonna have? right???? |

In addition to tools and spare parts I also include a simple survival kit in my Baja. I include:
power bars
whistle
reflective mirror for signaling
compass
Maps
space blanket
toilet paper and plastic shovel (and yes for me this is a survival tool :) )
sewing kit
fire starter blocks
waterproof matches and a good disposable lighter
leather-man tool
I also have an emergency contact list that I have laminated that I put in the tool kit. In addition to family contacts I have the numbers for the CHP, BLM, Ranger Stations, Rescue3, and local Sheriffs departments for the areas I frequent. |

Don't recall seeing an extra VALVE STEM (complete with core) on anyones list.
Also , I haven't done it yet , but plan to. Get an air hose about 4 feet long and install "screw on" ends that fit valve stems. Now cut the hose in half and install a cutoff valve and air pressure gauge. Overinflate your spare tire to the MAXIMUM rated pressure.
If you or a buddy need air you have your own portable tank and hose.
Even a small spare tire inflated to max would inflate a much larger tire to an acceptable pressure. Have the pressure gauge on the flat tire side of the cut off and you can monitor the pressure added to the flat once you cut off the flow.

| I always carry a foot and half pipe, steel wall about 1 inch diameter. You never know when you need a leverage bar/prypar/attitude adjuster/ or something to throw when you busted your knuckles the third time!! I also have a cheap $10 fluke in all my vehicles, it's been a real help. Then I carry a bottle jack that will work at any angle, its nice for bending, holding and pressing parts. |

| I keep lots of stuff at truck because there is not where to carry much on the rail. What I do keep with me I keep on the buggy is in a 50 cal bullets box from Army Surplus. Its not the biggest thing but it is water tight and mounts nicely with a bungee cord. In it I have a few feet of wire, plugs, set of points, a lighter, some rags, and a socket and wrench set along with all the other basic tools. Probably ought to carry more but thats all that fits in my box... If I need any thing else I can always go back to camp and round it up. |

This may sound odd, but
RED WINE
Apperently if you have a dead battery and you dump some red wine in the cells and give it about 15 min. it will charger your battery just enough for a start.
Its the acids in the red wine that help to carry the electrical charge, or something like that.
Google search it for the real chemistry.
And if you dont use it, get drunk. :P
Ohh yeah, and 57BAJA....holy shit you are equiped. You should just bring an extra motor, beam and transaxle. I like |

All the stuff I listed fits no problem in the car. I still need to secure the jack in a safe manner, but other than that its all in zipped up bags (3).
I forgot to mention I also carry 2.5 gallons of gas too. |
