Las Delicias is ok for reasonably priced standard Mexican fare (the cheese, lettuce, ground beef variety) with a few homestyle items available, but it is nowhere near "the best". El Parasio (right on the edge of NW Denver, less than 10 minutes from downtown) is one of the better, authentic Mexican restaurants in town.
Denver is a cool town. I've been here 21 years and have no plans on leaving anytime soon. It's a big city with smaller city accessability. I live in the suburbs just north of Denver, but it takes me 8 minutes to get downtown, 10-15 minutes to get up into the mountains and there is so much stuff to do if you enjoy the outdoors. I hike, bike, fish and snowboard, so it's just about the perfect place as far as I'm concerned. |

It's missing the Pacific Ocean! I used to snowboard in the morning (half day at Snow Summit) and surf in the afternoon. |

Some of my favorite places in Denver.
El Taco de Mexico, 7th and Santa Fe.
Club 404 on Broadway, Great dive bar.
The Asian restaurants around South Federal, China Jade for dim sum.
Coors Field in the summer time, when ever that is.
Denver Art Museum.
Apple Jack Liquor.
I don't live in Dever, maybe thats why I like it. I live a couple of hours away and spend several weekends there each year as a way to get out of the mountains and back to civiliazation.
I agree with the big city with smaller city accessability description. |

AppleJack rocks. I stop there all the time. It's one of the only places that carries both Hoegaarden and Whitbread. They even have 'Delirium Tremens' in 22oz bottles. One of the best liquor stores around.
You are correct about the Asian district on S. Federal. Awesome dim sum and tons of excellent noodle houses.
A few more highlights:
Streets of London pub- Colfax&Park ave. Newcastle on Tap, cool atmosphere, happy hour.
Tacos y Salsa - cheap, fast, good. I work a few blocks from the Aurora location on e. Colfax and go there at least once a week.
Sobo 151- Great place to watch hockey, Czech food, hard to find Czech & Slovakian beers like Budvar, Staropramen and Golden Pheasant. On S. Broadway.
Good Times (fast food burger joints)- while it's no In&out, it started here and puts McD's, BK and Wendy's to shame (I guess that's not saying much). They're all over town. |

Maybe it will leak too if it is raining.
Denver needs an ocean and a real VW community. Other than that it's great. |

Just an ocean would be fine.
But in all honesty, I kinda like being land-locked. It makes me WANT to go to the beach, which means I have to drive one of my VW's to the beach. It's really win win. |

Meeting 1 or 2 times a year at Sonic is a decent scene? Let's ask the California people if they think that equates to a "scene"! Burn back!!! |

QUADRUPLE BURN
There are local VW 'cliques'. It's hard to get everyone together as an ogranized monthly thing. We try to help each other out with quality work and good deals though. |

It would be nice to get a monthly meet up going. The problem is if 3-4 guys can't make it because of scheduling, that's 1/2 the group.   |
