There's a car coming down from Canada that will debut at Nick's that is going to "raise the bar" to levels never even imagined before. This car will SHOCK the VW world like no other before it ever did. This is Randy's and Rich's 10X. No disrespect intended........this car is just totally "off the hook" 8)

Just spoke to Jason Pollard and Lindy Herrell they just got to Lenny's. This weekend is going to be great in the OC. My old stomping grounds. Wish I was there with you guys. I will be there for sure next year.

Check out this bizarre engine that was at the Octo show swap. Shroud has the winter summer markings, heater boxes are very early no flap ones (probably 48 or earlier, as determined by the flange weld on the outlet shouts). Lower tin has X plate flanges. One guy pulled of a valve cover and said they were not Okrassa heads, but some kind of custom. A very, very early performance engine. Number on the block was 105XXX.

Air intakes are heater box to body tubes, T cleaner is the early kind (seam across front, not bottom. Carbs are Solex, interesting heat riser plumbing...

Only on Ca will you see a Radio Flyer wagon slammed on (Home Depot) earlies. Also, Randy Carlson's mobile radio station Bus. VERY cool....

REALLY nice weather, not too hot. I picked up a few things in the swaps, but not as much early stuff as I remember in the past.

A late model that while radical, wasn't my cup of tea. Let's just say for the money he had in it, you could be driving a Ferrari or Lamborghini. It had dual turbochargers, he moved the rear bulkhead in to facilitate thier being behind where the normal fan shroud would be, complete computer control, down to the twin fuel tanks where one was filled with pump gas, the other racing gas, and would automatically switch and start injecting the good stuff under boost. This is what I 'heard' in the parking lot. Very nicely done, however.

I don't get it.

banana split Sat Jun 07, 2008 2:56 pm

A late model? Well that was a big disappointment
I don't care what's been done to it, I probably would have walked right past it.

X2!

Wiggy Sat Jun 07, 2008 4:00 pm

Bob's not a Math teacher - he's an English teacher. Sometimes he gets his multiplies and divides signs confused.
