Has this ever happened to anyone? I inserted the locking plate to loosen the cam sprocket and this is what Im left with. Piss me off it did!

| that sucks, my cam is missing a similar chunk also. is that a 1.5? if so i have a cam i will sell for cheap. |

| no its a 1.6 head with hydraulic valves. Not sure what Im gonna do yet. Leave it or Replace it with a new cam. |

| It should be known to NOT use the cam lock for a brace to loosen the cam sprocket. :wink: I used to use a >clean< adjustable wrench on one of the cam lobes when loosening the nut on my ol' '89. 8) |

| Right, I know that now. Although I did have much success in the past, doing it with the locking plate. I guess my luck ran out. Lesson Learned! |

| There is a tool that holds the sprocket so you can loosen the bolt. It has 2 prongs sticking out that go in between the spokes with a long handle. Simple tool and it holds the sprocket rather than the cam itself. |
