| I just bought this 1999 jetta for next to nothing because i was told it needed a new transmission. It makes a straining noise at higher gears, but seems to shift fine through all the gears. There is also a vibrating/knocking noise that occurs only when the car is in gear and very erratic. This vibration seems to be under the car between the two front seats. From reading other posts, I was wondering if the problem could just be fluid related, since it appears to be fuctioning properly? |
