| Okay, I've been trying to troubleshoot my non-working speedo. I have verified the cable is good (it spins while driving). I have had the speedometer out of the car and apart and verified it worked with my drill. Just out of curiosity I checked the direction that the cable spins and thats when I discovered the cable is spinning the wrong direction! How is that possible? Has anyone experienced this? I'm stumped, any suggestions? |

| Two choices. It is a notorious crimp ring inside the speedo. On Pelicanparts.com there is a 914 technical  guide to fixing things. The speedo repair is in there. Secondly, there is a place in LA that fixes them for $50+ bucks or so. |

as you are hooking a cable to a drill it spins counter clockwise..or to the left,,,
if you are standing in front of the speedo it turns clockwise or to the right ...
so if yours turns the wrong direction it must be an Empi chinese cable,, sold in Japan,, that was brought over here by some guy from France to sell to you ... |
