View original topic: Help with light bulb sockets on my caddy please...

...I have sockets for my brake lights, but they don't have wires connected to them. I can't figure out how to take them apart so I can solder the wire to connect with. I'm afraid to brake them, so I'm waiting to see if I can get some insight first.
Thank you in advance for any help!

You're testing my memory (OMG, has it really been 15 years?!) here but I recall a problem with a taillight when I first got my Pickup. It seems to me it was a straightforward unscrew and a careful pull of the unit. I think I used electrical tape which worked all four or five years I had it.

I have heard of them being called "pigs tail", it's essentially the socket that the brake lights go into. I do have a part # if that helps anyone, it's # 179971922.
It's for my 1982 caddy truck.
I'll keep working on the pictures, thanks again for any input.[/img]
