On another I board I frequent there is a function where you can click "view new replies"...and it will show you all the threads that you have posted in that contain new replies from other members.
This is incredibly handy for tracking threads that you are obviously interested in, since you posted a message in them...
:)
I thought it was a standard feature, but I don't see that option anywhere on the Samba forums, so I guess not.
Would it be possible to implement this function? I think that many people would find it useful.
thanks. |

Look down at the bottom of the thread.
It says "Watch this topic for replys." |

You can also do View your posts in the upper right of the main Forums page.
Watch this topic sends you an email notification. Some people like that too. |

thanks for the quick replies guys...
I've used the "watch this topic" for a few threads, but I don't really want to get an email every time...it's more convenient to just check in when I have the time, and see all the topics I've posted in where people have replied.
And I saw where I can view my posts, but after about 100 posts, it gets pretty hard to keep track.
Maybe I'm just used to using it, but I still think the "view new replies" is probably more efficient for the forums as a whole, as well as a convenient feature for users.
Is it not an option in the software that Samba is built with?
thanks again. |

I am not aware of a feature like that in this Forum software.
When you do View your posts, you can jump to the newest reply using the icon.
Clicking that green icon applies to all threads. |

| subsequently on that link, only threads with this on the left contain new posts since your last visit. |

Ah, I see...
I was getting to "view all posts" through viewing my profile. I never noticed the link on the main forum page.
I guess that will do!
thanks for the help.
edit: so can i sort the posts by "latest posting" or something like that?
I just want to see if people have replied to my posts without having to search through 100's of listings. |

Clicking on View your posts on the main Forums page sorts it with the newest threads on top.
So it's newest threads on top with the first new post in each thread linked with
I normally open each new link in a new tab in my browser by using Ctrl+Mouse Click on the green icon. Makes it easier to read that way and keeps the search results available in browser tab #1. |
