| A 750cc 2 stroke??? Hate to have that one hit the pipe on a corner. No wonder you are referring to cripples. |

I think that they were one of the quickest/fastest production bikes ever made. The problem was that they had steel frames and bicycle spoke rims and could not corner...... They didnt make for repeat customers. |

We would occasionally rotate bikes to eleviate boredom and broaden our horizons ...
We one day had a new guy join us and one of us has a Caw 500.
The new guy would jump on the Kaw and crank it like a smart ass
then procede to hit the power band !
He then proceeded to shit his pants as he jumped up and leaned farward just to keep the front end down when this engine finally comes on like a mother !
Good times good laughs! |

| I had a 250cc triple back around 1980. The damn thing would smoke the honda 450's/750's 4's from redlight to redlight. |

A hinged-in-the-middle unguided missile that has the thirst of a Hummer.
What's not to like?
I have tremendous respect for the H bikes in the same way I have tremendous respect for anything wildly dangerous....plus I hate being behind 'em in traffic....coff.
On the other hand, the front tires never wear out! |

I have a '75 H1-F.
Took a nice little ride on Sunday. Had fun. Only leaned on it a few times.
I have this one because I rode an identical bike back in college. That one nearly succeeded in killing me. After I crashed, I rebuilt it and sold it - and always regretted it. I don't know how much longer I'm going to keep the one I have, but it's been fun reliving all the insanity.
:D
I know there are two other Triple owners on this board - one in Ontario and one here in Seattle. The Seattle guy has both an H1 and a H2. If you want to get into all things Triple-related, go here:

I rode mine for 2 years and crashed 3 times. First time was 5 minutes after I bought it..... Came into a turn too fast and that was that... Its been apart since 1979 in boxes. I look at it every summer and think about putting it back together then hit my self in the head with a hammer and try to tell myself that that is less painfull than riding it :D
But like you said, a little insanity can be good at times... :D |

When I was 13, I bought a 400 triple without a title for $50 from a junkyard.
Frankly, I was too scared of it to find out what it would do. I was also too scared of the police to ride it more than three times on the road, so I rode it on the abandoned railroad bed near my mothers house. Kind of like riding on a dirt road with no dust.
It was too fast for it's frame, that's all I can remember. |
