Are there any differences at all in the seat frames from 56 to 62 other than the threaded ball knob on the 45 to 60 and the threaded bell knob on the 61 to 62?

The little pivot pin on the bottom of the seat rail where the backrest pivots:

1956-60 just a pin
1961-64 the pin is threaded to accept a 10mm acorn nut

My 56 has the acorns on the drivers side and just pins on the pass seat side. Guess the drivers seat got replaced. All this time I thought the Passenger side was a home made fix because of stripped threads.

Makes me feel like Star Trek doing a "mind meld" getting so much information

'56-'64 backrests are the same left to right, but the seat bottoms are different, as each side has the backrest angle adjustment knob facing the door.

Crap :( I caught this thread on the Oval site, and realized the seats in my 58 are wrong!! Mine has the acorn nut on the pivot!! Question is are the seats shaped the same from 56-60, or was there a changed from the Ovals to the 58 to 60?

any chance of some pics of the ball knobs, i've never noticed them, all the early cars i have owned (56 58 59 60) all had acorns.

The seat adjuster knobs were all Ivory & had the same shape. But on earlier seats, the knob was pushed on with a metal clasp to attach it to the metal handle.
On later cars, the metal handle & Ivory knob was now threaded. Once the Ivory knob was installed, either method used to attach the knob would NOT be visible.
