Well, I'm stripping the interior of my 'new' 72 super for paint. I've got everything out with the exception of the plastic 'B' light cup on the dash and the steering column. I removed the two bolts that hold it steady on the dash and the bolt/nut that appears to be what tighens the end of the column to the splines on the steering gear. I've yanked, tugged, twisted, and cursed the hell out of the thing and it wont seperate. Am I missing something here? Anyone have any tips or suggestions on how to get the darn thing out?
Thanks in advance!

the one on my 62 was a pain too. i finally got a brass rod and hammer, and tapped it up off the splines. i just kept going around to different spots, and trying not to ding up the end too bad. once it moved, it came on off pretty smoothly. be sure and take the bolt all the way out!
good luck! |
