I just found a message on my phone (it's always off when grades are due) that my bus is done. I'll be heading off to the shop tomorrow to check it out and make arrangements to deliver it home. I'm a bit nervous as to what it will look like so I'll prepare for the worst being he is not neat with the spray gun and must have used that large roll of painters paper I gave him to line the litter box

The garage is almost ready for delivery I still have more stuff to clean up, but I read somewhere that I should put down plastic on my non sealed concrete floor as a vapor barrier. Anyone ever do this before?

Also hoping the gas in the tank is still good being it has been over a year since she ran. I don't want to pull the engine to remove the tank right now for cleaning so I'll mix some stabilizer with fresh fuel.

Now the fun begins

Congrats Linda, :D It looks real good from here.

Your patience has been rewarded.
You're almost there.

However, now is the time to finish it off right. Clean that overspray. Pay attention to the details on reassembly, seals, glass orientation, wiring, etc, etc, etc.

Congratulations once again!

=D> =D> Very Nice! Now it's time for the details... I'm a little jealous. I'm just starting mine. Received Funky Green on Tuesday; now it's time to tear into it.

Rocking out! Idea  My SO44 was ordered W/O jalousie windows and that it didn't have them was one of the most appreciated features. Yes, I know it gets muggy over there, but remembering the work I put into my first SO42's jalousies... I'd think you might consider this VERY time saving option. Five panes of stationary glass and seals... and you're done. Correct is cool too, but if you're OG windows are hash, you'll always be annoyed. Will look for your upcoming posts. Congratulations!

Can't tell how good the paint is but it looks pretty straight. Looks like it could use color sanding and buffing. A nice winter project.

I like the background noise. Sounds like your bus engine running. 8)

LOOKS NICE! CONGRATULATIONS!

They will be painting the window frames (pearl white) next week along with the pop top (silver white). I'm thinking I'll drop off the bumpers for a quick coat of silver white too. Remember I have a very nice set of slash bumpers for this bus because my pointed bumpers need repair. Not high on my list but I'll track down a bumper repair guy/gal to get the small bends out of the stock bumpers because I do not want to make them worse with my non bumper repair experience. Anyone out there know of an expert bumper guy/gal out there? Although the expense may be too high and I will just tackle it myself. But the slash bumpers will do for now.

Hey my 67 only gas door which has something missing but we don't know what. I suspect a spring type mechanism. Any picts or names of parts needed out there so I can track them down?

Linda Grunthaner Fri Nov 13, 2009 4:27 am

Is this what I'm looking for?
Does anyone have that piece of spring steel or do I need to buy one of these doors for $25. just to get the spring? I'll take a few of these photos to the body guy perhaps that piece is in the parts box [-o<
