CEO salaries are obscene. Today's Detroit News ran an article on top paid CEO's. They run from $83.1 million for J. Thain at Merrill Lynch down to a paltry $2.3 million for Stephen MacMillian at Stryker Corp.
What pisses me off is the fact that Alan Mulally gets $22.7 million at Ford Motor Co. while they keep laying off workers by the thousands and posting huge losses every quarter. His salary is down from $28.2 million that he got in 2006 after only four months on the job!!
Rick Wagoner at GM got $15.7 million even though GM lost $39 billion in 2007!!
I got my Social Security earnings statement and added it up. After 41 years of working I've made $1.3 million. On that I raised four sons and helped pay for college. Give me six months as a CEO and I can live like a King for the rest of my life.
Disgusting!!! |

| Disgusting, yes, but remember when they die, they can't take their money with them, and their money becomes...... someone elses money. I bet those people are miserable. As for me, I'd rather be poor and happy. |

Poor people always say that. Trust me, you can be wealthy and happy too. |

You can be middle class and happy as well. Do what makes you happy within your means. I think that's a better golden rule than the original...perhaps only for adults. |

| Elvis Presley has been dead over 20 years and he is still making over $20 million a year. Forbes magazine says he is the highest paid dead person. Go figure that one out. |

Two things:
1. Bill Gates said it best: "You don't become rich by writing a lot of checks."
2. Money and happiness are two unrelated items. |

Management is paid on the premise of what they know. The laborer is paid on what he achieves and his salary rises or falls based on that.
The CEOs salary rises on how long he spends in that position and his following salaries at new jobs will be based on that and not how well the Company he was at did financially. |

But- A lot of people are employed because of Kobe Bryant- not that I don't agree with what you're sayin'. CEO's, on the other hand, seem to get paid more for eliminating jobs. |

| I hardly ever get what I want, but somehow I always seem to get what I need to get by. I sure would loike to feel a CEO's pain, if only for one year... |
