And what a pain in the tuches it was (and not done yet).

Got the wheels here on the samba. They needed work. They were painted black with pink (WTF???) under.

I completely stripped the paint and polished the rim. Then painted the spokes in silver gray with a top coat of clear.

I then got a set of really nice center caps with the Wolfsburg emblem on them. The problem is they are held with 3 small alen screws. What a pain to put on.

Took the wheels to Discount Tires to have them put the tires on them and balance and install. Then remembered I need to remove the center caps for balance (I put them on to save time at the tire store). Didn't have the alen key but did have the right size bit. The bit broke on the first screw.
Walk across the street to walmart and had to buy a full set of Black and Dekker bits for the one alen key.
Back at the Discount tires I removed the center caps.

We install the rear tires and the go on fine. Put the front tire and the center cap pops out when the guy tightens the lug nuts. Arrrrg!
The center cap is too small and the dust cap underneat pushes it out. So I told the guy to leave the center caps out and I will deal with them later.

We tighten the lugs and turn the wheel, the damn valve is now hitting the caliper (I did a front disk upgrade). After an hour they came up with 2 special valves that are really short and need a special adaptor to fill air. I got one adaptor. Must not loose it.

So here is the final install. I will deal with the other problems later.

I actually finished the installation today. Had to shorten the internal part of the front center caps so they will fit without hitting the dust cap but they now look great.

It's going to be pain all over again when I will need to rotate the tires but it's worth it.
