Yes, definitely a beautiful job. Your dash pad, is it the show quality unit from KGPR?

| actually it is the original believe it or not. It had a few small cracks that I was able to repair. I don't think the KGPR fiberglass dash pad for the early Ghias has vinyl, you may have to have it recovered if you want it to look stock. |

That is remarkable for an original. The KGPR would have to be covered to look genuine, and then it would not feel the same. But, it's not like everyone will be feeling your dash, unless it has something to do with the way you drive

Found some speakers I can use for the front to go with the new stereo.
Both the new stereo and front speakers were put in with zero mods to the stock opening.

The PO already had the bumper hole done
for some unknown reason.
the hole was probably for a cb antenna popular in the 70s |

Took the car to my friend's shop for the Ghia's annual "MOT" (the UK safety check). It passed so it's legal for another year.

Brakes, lights, steering, tyres, wipers, screen washers, seat belts, corrosion, emissions (although for pre '72 car it's just a visual check you're not blowing smoke) and a lot of others: http://www.motester.co.uk/Home/MOTChecklist.aspx
However in Germany it's a lot more stringent. :? |

Yes, those colors are very classy, and the visual balance between the paint, trim, and wheels is "just right"

I imagine the aspect of no speed limit has something to do with it... sending someone out on the autobahn in a car with poor ball joints or rusted body mounts would be a problem at 90mph

Not so much speed related but original equipment related. If you have, say and exhaust that wasn't available when the car was produced it isn't allowed. I'm by no means an expert but they do go over vintage vehicles with a fine toothed comb and VW owners I know get very nervy when it comes to inspection time. :? Udo would give you a better idea of what they go through. |
