| Any of you guys know the weight of a complete 36hp engine? I need to get a freight quote. I would prefer no guesses...I can do that. Unfortunately, I don't have a big enough scale. Any help appreciated. |

| The Bentley Manual says the total dry weight is approx. 90kg (198 lbs.) |

I recently shipped a '52 long block and it weighed 195lbs. No tin, fan housing, intake, carb, gen oil cooler. Did have a flywheel and clutch.
198 seems light for a complete 36 hp. I'd say closer to 250.
You can use a bathroom scale and get a pretty good est. Put the engine on a board or pallet, slip the scale under one end with a 2x2 or something like it right under the very edge of the board, then do the same for the other side. Add the weights. Maybe round up 2% or so for error. |
