| My ghia had been sitting in a garage for 20+ years before I got my hands on it. In all over the body are these spots where the garage had dripped some kind of mineral onto the car. Its pretty thick too, like the start of the formation of stalagmites! My question is how the hell to get this stuff off. Ive tried sanding, but that only works on the super thin parts. Is there a chemical that I could put on the mineral deposits that wouldn't screw up the paint? |

I don't know but it is a commercial lime remover you'd pour in a kettle to clean it out.
Maybe CLR? |

| I've also tried clr on it. Its so extreme that its not just spots on the paint. in some places it gets to be 1/16" thick. Maybe if I take a rag soaked in hot CLR and just let it sit there for a few hours itll soften up? |
