how long are we talking time wise if i was looking to strip three layers of paints of my bugwith and angle grinder and copius amounts of free time? the hood and rear fenders might be easy since i can pick big chips off that all the way down to the metal since its got that nice layer of rust dust. I have from now until mid august(I love my gi bill which enables me to do absolutley nothing, work wise)

Do not take an angle grinder to paint. you will leave marks that will not come out. Use a stripper then some coarse paper, or look into media blasting.

I was assuming that your angle grinder has a twisted wire wheel on it. That will really remove paint but the bare metal will have to be conditioned or scuffed up before any paint or filler is applied.

Dont have anything yet. I'm in the navy so i'm used to sanding and painting and sanding and painting and sanding and painting and sanding and, allmost lost my mind again sorry. anyways this work is gonna be done in a driveway in brentwood(the one where oj went slashing). would I be going in the right direction by getting a angle grinder and throwing a stripper pad on it. Ive screwed up some doors on the ship with a wire wheel before so should I just go at this thing by hand?(not kidding at all)

One thing to watch on a grinder is heat. It will build up heat really quick and warp sheet metal. What you can do it scuff the paint with a rough sandpaper to open up the surface a bit, then apply paint stripper. Get off as much paint as possible with the stripper. At that point use an orbital sander to get the remnants. Orbitals will not leave gouges in the metal.

Another vote for this approach.

lol the best is when youre walking thru the landing area and the fresh nonskid laid by the japanese contractors gets broken and blasted down the deck by the prowlers then scrathes your brandnew goggles that you had to bribe the filipino mafia for.
