I was just trying to share the information with star coils aswell. They are not correct for all splits.

The picture of the enameled badges show that the lettering (cloisonne/filigree) work to be a bit distorted, look close at the "O" in kabriolet, plus several of the other letters in the badge are off. ..........

That is only because the the picture is reduced in size in the posting and there is some pixel aliasing. Click on the pic and view it full size, there is no asymmetry or distortion of the letters.

HeSa,
The coil in your pic above (nicked named the Moon coil) ,what year was it used ? Was the moon coil a option or upgrade from the normal star coil?
Btw I have a early (moon type coil) in blackend finsh that came with a 47.

Hello, that change can be seen in the 1952 Bosch parts book and the topic is pretty well covered here:

Cabriothusiast Mon Jun 30, 2008 3:29 pm

Hi Pascal,
my both februar 52 verts came with its original badge. By both cars it was a small badge with two "TT". I donīt know the exact date, when they have changed the size and the "T" into double "TT". It was beetween october 51 and february 52 I think.

Thanks Claus,
It is already on the car! :D :D :D

Ok, help me out guys. I was getting ready to list these for sale but am now questioning if they are real or repro. I bought them back in 1988 along with a bunch of NOS parts.

Was anyone making repro badges in 88?
Here's a few shots of them, the shot of the back of one is just a reflection not a discoloring like it looks.

56Cabrio Tue Jul 29, 2008 8:02 pm

Im pretty sure those are repos. The back looks just like a key chain i bought at a bug show in 2001. Here is a pic of the back of the one off my 56.
