PUYALLUP, Wash. -- A local woman has been arrested for allegedly beating up and threatening to kill a sex offender who had moved into her neighborhood.

According to the document of probable cause, Level-3 sex offender William A. Baldwin had moved into his uncle's Puyallup home earlier this month. Following his move, sheriff's deputies distributed flyers around the neighborhood to alert residents of his presence.

On Monday a woman named Tammy Lee Gibson went to Baldwin's house in the 1800 block of River Road and asked for him.

When Baldwin stepped outside, she claimed she was going to kill him because Baldwin had molested her children. Gibson, who was armed with a small aluminum baseball bat, then proceeded to hit Baldwin repeatedly, the document said, leaving him with a possible broken arm.

Baldwin contacted the sheriff's department, and deputies found a woman who matched Gibson's description in the nearby Cottonwood Mobile Home Park.

Gibson admitted to police that she had confronted Baldwin and had threatened to kill him.

"Yes, I did say that. I shouldn't have done that," the document quotes her as saying. "I kept swingin' and swingin', and swingin'."

Contrary to what she had said to Baldwin, Gibson denied that Baldwin had molested her children.

Gibson was charged with assault and felony harassment on Wednesday and is being held on $15,000 bail.

During the investigation, deputies learned that Baldwin had registered under a false address following his move. He claimed his new home was in the 7900 block of River Road when it was actually in the 1800 block. Baldwin was also taken into custody for reporting false relocation information to authorities.

In 1998, Baldwin was convicted of molesting a 5-year-old girl. While on parole, he sexually assaulted another 5-year-old girl the following year, the sheriff's department said.

Baldwin is believed to be at high risk of re-offending, but was not under community supervision at the time of his arrest.

If our laws were structured correctly the guy would be dead by execution and we wouldn't have to worry about where he is living.
What the article didn't talk about is the fact that he was arrested for child rape and he was talking with her 10 year old daughter when no adults were close by. A neighbor saw him from inside their house.

If a convicted child molester/rapist were to talk to my granddaughter I would react similarly but with more than a broken arm!
All he was doing was "interviewing" his next victim. Child rape (think about it) what the hell is he doing out of prison?

Good thing he wasn't high at the time, otherwise he would be doing some hard time.

Exactly....lock them up for life. Better yet, find a deserted island somewhere and drop them off.

Then nuke it.

Sounds like there was only witness, and she left him alive.

The Sage Fri Jun 20, 2008 4:29 am

Admitting to the crime wasn't her best strategy.

Two time child rapist and hes on the streets again when they know he is a high risk re-offender. Gotta love the gov. She should have killed that piece of shit. She did screw up admitting to it. DENY DENY DENY. Its a pervs word against yours.

She should have gone with something more than just a bat. I don't have a kid, but I have nephews. If anyone hurt them I don't know what I would do, my brother on the other hand would kill the bastards who hurt them with his bare hands.

I would probably burn them alive, they should suffer.

Anyone who hurts a child, or rapes someone, should pay...with their life, a very, very slow and painful death.

For those of you who are asking "What's he doing out of prison?" Look up registered sex offenders in YOUR state/county. And those are only the ones that got caught & convicted. You think it's any different where you live?

Last I checked King County, WA (Seattle's county) had over 17K RSOs!

Temo Fri Jun 20, 2008 7:36 am

Damn!!!

She's facing 10 years in prison while the guy who destroy the kids lives is playing victim now...

Something is not right...

Usually I don't agree with O'Reilly but I support the man in his campaign about the 25 years first offence.

How did he survive in prison. I hear they have to keep child molesters in isolation for their own protection. That should stop.

My old neighbor from a few years ago was a Prison Guard who was assigned to "watch" the rapists/sex offenders... They were kept in isolation or in their own wing.

In prison apparently it's not cool to rape/kill a woman/child...its viewed as weak.

He told me a story of a sex offender who "accidentally" got into the General Public exercise area... Long story short was he didn't make it out breathing...
