| Hey, you guys who weld up round or square tubing to reinforce the beetle across the door pillars, what kind of tubing are you using, steel?? What size I.D. and O.D.??? What gauge is the tubing. I went to Home Depot and found some round steel pipe that was 3/4 I.D. but the actual thickness was thick to me. If I weld that in compared to the think vw sheetmetal, won't it burn through before catching the tube?? I need some info on this since I need to reinforce my 61 ragtop above the lower hinge pillars, thanks |
