I guess Mom, Dad, and I came home from the hospital in the back seat of my grandparents' 1952 Mercedes 220A Cabriolet. Not the actual car, theirs was tan:
If they only knew what those cars would be worth today.... I guess they junked it a few years later due to extensive rust... in about 1962 or so when they got their first Type 3. |

And it was brand new...
Not quite.
You couldn't buy new cars when I was born. Everything was for WWII war production. |

Born in panama @ the canal zone in '67. more then likely i was carried out. i believe the first car i rode in was when my parents moved out east, and my dad bought a used '70 Mustang Shelby (GT500) i think?, in grabber orange - for around $1700.00 - that was sold for a Boss 302. My mom had a Ford Fairlane, until they divorced and she got a green Pinto sedan- which my mom, me (5), my sis (7) and our begal - drove from Trenton, NJ- to P.A. Washington...
edit- found some pics of the Shelby-

1956 Chevrolet 210 Wagon (white on black w/ the largest hood ornament ever!)
1978 Oldsmobile EightyEight (silver w/ red interior. Red everything, carpet, dash, steering wheel, door panels, a, b, and c pillar plastic, headliner)
1972 Porsche 914 (blue, still got it)
1976 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am (it was gold, T-top, with the black bird on the hood I think)
The first two were my grampa's and the latter two belonged to my parents at the time of my birth. Wow, I just now noticed that both my mom and my dad had two-seaters! Fuckin' a! :D
They both owned the 914?
Gotcha. Damnit... for some reason or another I swore the Trans Am was a two-seater. Aww well. :? The 914 was my mom's. |

I would love to have been present at the pitch for the Pacer- whomever presented it deserves one heck of a pat on the back (or kick in the ass) for getting it approved into development. |
