What is the purpose of having separate forums for split, oval, and beetle? I think most of the topics covered would be interesting for all early bug owners. I don't usually go to the split forum, because i don't own a split, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't be interested in the topics posted there. I know I can just browse all forums, but I think it would be more conveinent to have them all in one.
In my opinion, a bug is a bug. Unless it's a Super or late model heh heh :) |

Back in the day when it was all in one forum, people would post tech questions about their car. It was common to have to ask what year of car they were working with. The way the forums are separated now, you can assume the question refers to an oval if it's in the oval forum.
It also keeps people from babbling about later Beetles in topics about early cars.
If you are having a problem with your oval window's pedal assembly for example, you can restrict your search for topics in the oval forum. This will vastly speed up finding pertinent info while eliminating irrelevant info. |

I totally see you're point, but I also think there is such an overlap between late split and early oval or late oval and early square window that it's the same car really. I guess it's just a personal preference and I am outvoted. |

Yeah, maybe it was a bad idea. I guess I'm just too lazy to check all the forums. |

| Do you realize that if all bugs were lumped into one forum, the mess it would be with all the posts. Each time you went to check a thread, it would be 3 pages back. |

There is some slight overlap but for one thing, the Split Forum is for all early cars, including coachbuilts.
It's nice to have the Oval and Split Forums separate if that is what you are into as the Beetle and Super Beetle Forum can be overwhelming at times due to the quantity of new posts. |

Yep, I have a hard enough time just keeping up to date on the Beetle forum...Plus there are so many differences between the cars it would be nuts to try and read the relevant posts for your car. "Please help me identify this coach built" would be right above "How do I change the oil in my '73 Super beetle?"...It's better like it is now... |
