I'm working on my 56 and had to replace the rear bumper mount sections due to an accident from what looks like a long time ago. While replacing them I found the pieces inside the engine bay that hold the engine seal (little shelf type pieces) and are welded to the wheel well/firewall sections are pretty well rotted away. I've been looking around and haven't been able to find and aftermarket or OG replacements. I tried finding some in junk yard but all the ones I found were just as bad as mine. To fix the ones I have would require fabricating about 70% of the pieces and a whole lot of time. Can anybody tell me if there is a place to get these pieces. I really need to find these and I can't believe nobody makes em. Then again, I've never had to replace em before either and I've owned about 9 over the years. Even a set of good used ones will do as long as their complete and the tabs arent cut off. Thanks for any help guys. Dan

The correct ones, with the correct stampings aren't available as repros that I know of (but maybe Hooky's Panel shop in the UK made a few?). You will just have to find a nice dry rear clip/quarter and use those. They are out there, pop up in the classifieds every once in a while. Maybe place a wanted ad....

Good luck...

Oh thats good news. Thanks allot for the info. I'm gonna to look em up now.

Hey I found em. Yeah not cheap but it's better than spending hours trying to make mine look like they weren't hacked up. Well worth the $130 for the pair. Thanks again guys.
