I'm having intense chatter/juddering on the clutch when moving through gears ('55 Oval with original split case box).

Have heard this could be caused by the Bowden tube? Something about having a bend in it, i've searched and I can't really find any diagrams of early bowden tube setups to see what the deal is.

Could anyone possibly help?

Thanks,
Tom

Doesn't matter what year it is, the principle is the same, you need to have about an inch of sag in the bowden tube to preload the cable to compensate for the drivetrain "rocking" on its mounts as you engage the clutch. Of course, if you have an unevenly sprung (worn) pressure plate or oil on the clutch disc, or bad tranny mounts, then the sag in the bowden tube might not help much.
