View original topic: Installing 200mm pressure plate on a 180mm flywheel

Hello-

I have two questions related to beefing up the clutch for a 36hp (based) motor. First, I've seen references to heavy duty 180mm bus pressure plates, but I have no idea how much extra pressure a HD clutch exerts vs. a normal 180mm pressure plate. Does anyone have any data they can share? Second, I've read about people milling their flywheels to accept a 200mm pressure plates. Is this very difficult/expensive? Are there any downsides? Pictures?

Thanks,

Paul

Just install a 6Volt, 200 mm Flywheel. these came in Early Type III's and Early 60's Buses. No machining needed. ( I am assuming your Oval is still 6 Volt?)

Hello-

I actually have one of those in the garage. The only issue is that I don't think it will fit a 36hp crankshaft.
