Not to rain on your parade at all, but a original beat up paint job is better than a brush job, That being said you can always go over it with scotch brite pads or a fine sand paper and evenly dull the whole thing. I have a vertical closet cabinet that you can have. It is missing the front door piece. but you gotta pay for shipping. Home depot sells Luan paneling. It is cheap and works good for what you got. Cool bus. I drive 71`s And that looks like a nice on for bucks.

thanks ned, but my bus is for function and not restoro, i have a '78 interior for it and it works flawlessly for what i need, this was never meant to be a complete restore job otherwise i would have fixed the nose and lined the whole thing , i love my little bus the way that it is and may just keep adding on to her the way she is, i found the full closet to be really annoying when trying to drive and honestly if you pack right you can almost fit the same amount of junk in to the tiny little guy i have right now, i had the o.g. '71 interior and didn't find it that functional, not saying that it can't be used but you have to be honest with yourself and admit the later interiors are way more functional for camping than the early models. so yeah man no worries for once there is no rainy days in washington so no ones raining on this parade! lol!

not being a jerk above just spirited! thanks alot for the offer and the tips that rocks keep the good karma flowing!

The only reason I have the closet to begin with is that the old westy interiors are crap for funtion in this decade. Mine is a homemade job and way more comfy. I guess they are nice if you are gonna restore and show. But that ROLL-ON paint is really a shame even for the next owner down the line. Spray guns are cheap.

what next owner? lol, this is my first and i plan on keeping it if you read the whole thread i mentioned i only did the roll on job to protect again rust and such and i have access to a powder coat booth x3 the size of the bus so when i'm finally ready to replace the nose and do all of that stuff the roll on paint won't be an issue. aslo besides all of that look at the tremaclad thread on here it's very very common and alot of people have really nice looking paint jobs using the rusto, i'll proably do a complete resto in a few years when the motor dies and i have another bus to cruise in the mean time.

get bent asshole, it's not your bus and i didn't ask for your opinion on what you thought about it go be a bummer somewhere else mate.

anyone else feels like commenting on the rusto paint job can be told the same, it's been on there for 2-3 years now and still going great and i didn't have to sale my house to keep another bus on the road. i'm happy with it and very happy with the $30 it cost me. If you have a problem with it go to a show and hang with the other snobs and elitist a-holes there, i like my bus and am happy with it.

what kind of flooring is that in your bus?

Volksdraggin Mon Jul 18, 2011 2:33 pm

I think the paint job looks just fine. Tell the haters to piss up a rope. I've had worse paint jobs and it seems only shit talkers say stuff online, obviously never have the balls to talk shit to someones face.

Fellow Washingtonian...
The Bus looks great and the main thing is you are out digging it. Mine was Sierra Yellow and now is Turquoise and Pearl White..Your bus your choice. As long as you are enjoying it and loving it, who cares.
Keep on loving the Bus and your thread rocks.
Great Camp pics btw.

home depot scratch proof tounge in groove pergo.
$25 a box 2 box job
really cheap and very nice, easy to clean and easy to install, there's a few threads on it here with good drawings and details on how to do it. a few hours work and easily replaceable if you change your mind

I wanna make a trip down to Seattle area to draw all the animals at the zoo, and maybe some of the animals that go to the zoo.

Ps. Long live home brew paint jobs!
