Keep up the good work. I have to say though if it were my bus I'd rip out the Great Stuff and just use the silver insulation. Being from a place where it is rainy most of the time I have seen this stuff rot vehicles out when it is used. It holds moisture against the metal (If this stuff gets wet enough it can absorb water. We use it everyday where I work and I see it all the time.) It is your bus so do as you wish. Good luck with it.

hey thanks for that one man! just welded in some more plates on the usb floor behind the folding bed as i had 2 huge holes there , as far as teh great stuff goes yea i`m going to cut alot of that out if there, i know the whole "it`s your bus thing" but still if i`m doing something stupid i`d like to be told about it as opposed to "pretending" to know what i`m doing here, i`m real jr. engineer and my skills have been described as sophomoric, or just good enough to be really dangerous he he , but thanks good call on that, in my thread please feel free to speak up if you notice me going about things all wrong , i want my bus to be nice and i plan on owning it for the next 20-30yrs at least of course it`ll be going through many revisions between now and then but using great stuff and doing something that will cause it to rust out would make that a pipe dream, pretty much please help me to keep from ruining it, other than that i think i should be good to go!!!!!!!!!!!! liked your fat chick thread as well man!! i need to pop some battery trays ion mine as well! oh well take care and good night all will update tomorrow!

theizzardking Wed Jul 09, 2008 11:43 am

just found out for sure i have the dog house fan shroud, does this mean that i have to have the doghouse cooling fan and comments as well or can i just assume that it`s the complete doghouse set-up?

VWDruid Wed Jul 09, 2008 11:55 am

it may not be connected may have to have a feel. see what Busdaddy said in my post.
busdaddy wrote: Yep, no thermostat, reach around the front of your fan shroud and feel for some levers coming out at the bottom where it meets the head tins and also for an arm running across to the other side.

ok that1s good to know as well. i`m really thinking hard about getting a 1776 and putting in there seems to be the most power with the longest life that you can get kind of a happy medium, seen a few on here for around 1,500 may take a little work but i`m ok with that!
