Bringing back OG paint...
I want to buff out the original paint on the interior of my 62 rag top. What's the best process without doing any damage???
Thanks |

First wash the area.
Then use a Clay bar (Meguirs makes a decent one) with some Quick Detailer solution.
Apply some rubbing compound by hand
Finish with some polish and/or carnuba wax
Here's my Deluxe Bus with before & after pics using the method I mentioned above. Yes, that's original paint

Rags (lots), laquer thinner, (there is a dangerous combination there...), the laquer thinner will strip off the oxidation, dont overdo it or the paint will come off. Follow up with some wax.
I can hear horrified protests now, but this is how I do it, it is fast, and wont damage your original paint worth worrying about. |

| WOW!! That bus looks good!! Love the color. Did you have any rust spots on the body to worry about? If so, would you use the same method over the rust spot? My '74 saturn yellow vert needs some love, and I'm not able to give up my driver for a paint job now. L8r, Anythelia |
