| Anyone know if there is a console made for or adaptable to 86 5spd convertible that has cup holders? Silly Germans designed it without any damn cup holders! Thanx |

not that i know of, but you know those big goofy 64oz mugs from sporting events and stuff? i use one of those. i cant even use one of the ones that sits on the seat because i have leather seats.. and everything just slides right off.. but the i belted in the mug, and left it open and put my bottled soda's or fast food cups in it.. works like a charm.
or sometimes i fill the mug, put the lid on, and put it on the floor.. it only falls over in really hard cornering.
thats just the solution ive been using at the moment. it looks like the PO tried one of the cup holders that clips to the air vent.. as one is completely broken, and the other is non adjustable..
[EDIT]
passengers work well too:
here, hold this,
"why?"
youre in my car, and i have to shift.. also i paid for the drinks. |

There are one or two consoles for sale on eBay now and then, but they are custom-made by individuals rather than corporations (not that there's anything wrong with that) and they fit over the E-brake. There are no cup holder center consoles available on the commercial market for Cabriolets, as far as I know.
Others have fastened cup holders to the door panels, have used vent cup holders, have used holders that sit on the passenger seat or floor, etc.
Cup holders are an American thing... Germans build cars to drive, not to live in. :P |

"what do you mean you have no cupholders? thats dumb"
"its a german made car, they designed it to drive, not be a restaurant"
