Hey Jean,
Thinking you mean where to install the engine lid spring.
Do keep in mind that you can search BOTH the Forums and Gallery.
Here is a result from searching the Gallery with "1949-67 bus parts" selected, and "Engine Lid" as search words:
Lots more good images of the arm and spring in there. |

| BTW nice job on the DC!! The rear apron is supposed to only have one exhaust tip opening through it. That was a DPO hack to be able to install a Beetle muffler. Best to use a Bus ONLY muffler for your health and your dogs. |

Nice job!
I don't think I've seen people use filler on the interior / engine compartment. |

Thank you for the info. It will search it will help a lot.
You are absolutely right about the apron but sadly I realize it a little to late.
So we are finishing the baby and after we will rectify this. And YES it will be a bus only muffler on it. |

Holy Shit! Nice photo documentation! They basically did this all outside, well, under roof. What is that transparent yellow prep product, I think he calles it primer?

The yellowish primer is what they call here a "washprimer". Since we put it to metal it make the primer stick.
Thank you your appreciation of the work I will post more photos at the end of the day because it is now a lot more finish than the last photos posted.

Thats bad ass. lots of clean work done.
the stuff that cracked me up was, no facemask painting, awesome. LOL.
And the use of filler in places ive never seen it. that guy is a perfectionist.
Also the one custom made hubcap, thats classic.
the gates and rear seat base impressed me most. nice metal work. :D |

I just love these pictures. It`s crazy how we in the USA look everywhere for that prefab replacement panel and then bitch about the poor fit for being off a 1/16". Hell just give this guy some metal hammer & chisel and stand back. From the looks of it he made the floor and the bed to.(not in the picture)
Great work Atlantida "Your The Man"
