This was a project brought together by the Make a Wish foundation, Judd Carpenter (LVVWC member), and The Wagen shop in Las Vegas. I'm not 100% sure of how the story goes but it something like this. Kyle, a 16 year old kid has a very serious condition called CS. He was contacted by the Make A Wish fondation and was asked what a wanted to enrich his life. His answer was to fix up his sad little 68 bug. Kyle is a memebr of the same church as a memebr of the LAs Vegas VW Club member Judd Carpenter. Not sure of the particulars but somehow the Make a Wish, through Judd, contacted George at The Wagen VW shop in LAs Vegas about fullfilling Kyle's wish. George jumped at the chance and with a limited budget from MAke A Wish George went about rebuilding the bug. Now George didn't want cut any corners and knew the budget wouldn't allow the level of completion that he wanted to give back. He contacted a few shops that either discounted or gave parts to the project, the paint was heavily discounted and turned out top notch, the interior was dome by Classic VDubs as well as other stuff, the LAS Vegas VW Club donated countless hours of labor as well as numerous shops, clubs, and individuals that either donated time, parts, or cash money to get the project conpleted. The reveal was planned at the Church the family belongs to and the congregation, VW community, and various media outlets gathered to watch Kyle's wish come true. It was a very emotional monent when Kyle layed eyes on his completely rebuilt and customized bug. There weren't too many dry eyes for a few minutes as Kyle gave George a hug and thanked him for everything. Below is a few photos of the event. I'm sure George will add to this and mention all the individuals involved amd set any parts of the story straight that I got wrong. What an awsome experience and one that I will never forget. Please add any extra comments that I left out as well as photos. Great job George and congrats Kyle !!!

What a great event. Kyle was truely beside himself when he saw the car. A big turnout from the Chruch congregation and the VW community plus a few media outlets really was awsome. I was crying like a school girl, it was very emotional. His dad is a long time VW owner and use to have a bunch a VWs in Hawaii. The Wagen did an awsome job coordinating the buildup of this project. There were many shops and individuals that contributed time and/or parts to this project. Maybe George can complie a list if shops, clubs, and individuals that helped.
