Hey guys...My name is DannyMack and Im from Northern NJ....Im new to this whole VW phenomenon.. I honestly saw a Squareback for the first time last week and fell in love instantly...And here I am..
I used to build bagged trucks and hotrods but I have decided that a Squareback will be my next project. Ill be surfing around here and some other various forums trying to learn as much as possible before I decide exactly which year to purchase.. I know Ill be bagging it and doing a Subaru Motor swap.... (All decided so far with no knowledge of any of it). I have MANY questions but I will continue to read before I start asking...
Anyway.. Hello to all and I will be picking some of your brains very shortly!!! |

Im actually from Hackettstown...My boss is a VW fanatic and I was peeking over his shoulder one day on some of the sites he frequents. I saw a pic of a squareback laying pan on some 18's...Hooked!!!
I like the Fastys and the Notches also but the Squares stole my heart...Sorry 19typethree67..lol |

| Sweet, a bunch of us just got back from The Cult Classic in PA. It's a judged show but the twist is that it is judged by the attendees and not assigned judges. I was the only type three there. I took first in the aircooled section. LOL hilarious, I wasn't even expecting to place... |

Get a square dude, then people wont mistake it for a pinto or some other 70s hatchback. Youll love it.
Youd prolly love a fasty too, type threes are gods perfect little autos.
Post pics when you buy!! |

The whole reason I wanted a square intially, was because of my long list of golfs and GTI's owned.
Although I did have a cop rip up to a gas pump when we were towing the square home, and jump out talking a mile a minute:
"Man, I haven't seen one of these in years! My family had the exact same MG when I was growing up!"
Errr..MG made a square look-a-like?
I didnt argue with the copper though. I was towing the car slightly illegal.
 |
