As some of you may have read previously, I bought a 68 squareback in April. It was my first air-cooled vehicle and I LOVE it. A few days after I bought it I ran it through emissions and it failed worse than the tech had ever seen before. I immediately drove it home and pulled out the motor. I replaced the pistons, cylinders, complete cylinder heads, valve covers, cleaned and painted the tins, spark plugs, plug wires, push rod tubes, and an empi 4 tip GT exhaust. The motor is ready to go back in now, hopefully tomorrow. I would like to thank the people on the samba forum for helping me through this scary rebuild. I know I have asked some stupid questions and some that made you, and myself, question my ability to complete the project. But in the end I pulled it off. I will continue my activity in the forum and help out as much as I can as you did for me. Thank You.

By the way, If anyone has some complete cheap dual carbs please PM me. It's a 1600. They were in the original rebuild plans, unfortunately I was short on funding for new ones. I think 34 pict's would be best... I don't know. I won't be racing it or anything and gas is just too damn much.

I might have some dual dellortos 34's with the short air filters that I iused to have on my squareback. I'll look through the garage and if I can find them, i'll let you have them for the cost of shipping and handling. No promises though. I can't remember if I got rid of them or not |

So, all you really need is linkage parts. It's usually easier/cheaper to fix what you have rather than buying new problems!

I checked with Chirco, which is a pretty big supplier for the southwest and conveniently located here in tucson, and they said they didn't have any kind of linkage for the soley's. If you know a place I could find some please let me know.

You didn't try the usual suspects... ISP West, Bill and Steves? Both of these should have them in stock. CB Performance might even have them too, as they're selling new 34 pdsits.
