I was in Bulacan this morning, about 50 kilometers away from Manila, and bought from a friend a Type 3 aircleaner. In the process, I found a rear stabilizer for a Type 3. Sharky 2's (Fasty's) rear stabilizer is missing when my wife gave it to me as a present.
Ergo, would it be wise to install the rear stabilizer on Sharky 2 even if its stance is lowered? What are the advantages and disadvantages when a Type 3 has a rear stabilizer?
Thanks a lot in advance. |

rear stabilizer? I don't know that I've ever heard of one. Is it a rear sway bar you're talking about? or some kind of shock cross bar :? |

I think its a cross bar. Just like the one installed on Type 1 KG's. It works as a stabilizer! |

thats what I was assuming, but the question is where does it go? does it go cross ways under the transmission between the lower shock mounts? if so my only concern would be clearance issues with a lowered stance or with obstructions in the road. other that that, I don't see any reason why you SHOULDNT; but at the same time, I don't really see the point. The rear engine set up makes it pretty stable on its own. if anything, the front should have a sway bar... and it does. factory. |

Okay! I'll try to install it and see if there is any difference on Sharky 2's handling characteristics withotu it!

| Not sure if it's the same as what you're talking about, but I've had one of the old CB-copied camber compensators on my '66 for years. Couldn't say how big a difference it made, but I do know that swapping the upper tortion/sway bar spring for a later one made a noticable difference. As for clearances, I've never had any problems with it catching on anything. Speedbumps are a non-issue, since the thing is placed directly between the rear tires. |

I checked my fasty yesterday and found the provisions for the rear cross bar. I guess I have to install the same to know whether that are significant changes on its performance.
