TheSamba.com :: View topic - Possible phishing of Samba member's e-mail adresses?

I received a junk e-mail today, which listed many other recipients, sent by the so-called Emerson Electric Company. To my surprise, the list had some names I recognize from thesamba. In fact, most seemed VW related in nature. If I could guess I would say that all are samba members. Some of you might have gotten the same message. I just wonder how such a targeted e-mail list could be obtained. I suppose some e-mail addresses are available publicly through the Buyer/Seller feedback thread, but maybe not to this extent.
I would be happy to forward the e-mail list via PM, so we can figure out what's what. Here are some that are edited to protect privacy.

It's possible they are being grabbed from the Feedback threads (that is the only source on the site) but from what I have seen in the past, it is A LOT more likely that someone on the site is infected with a virus and their address book has been either used to send spam or compromised and dumped into the general spam populace.

///Mink pointed out a possible way spammers could be harvesting incomplete email addresses that could be later formed into complete email addresses using some intelligence. Some changes have been made to prevent this possibility just in case. Thank you.
