Hallo
My name is Jack. I'm from Poland. Sorry for my English. It isn't good enought. I've just started body work in my SC '64. Now I'm looking for body metal parts and I have a problem. I don't now if it is a good rocker panel for truck with double trescher chest truck. I've found it on cip1. Could anyone tell me it is the right part for both sides. Please take a look.
VWC-211-809-581-A - COMPLETE INNER / OUTER RIGHT ROCKER - BUS 50-67 (SHIPPING CHARGES APPLY)
I also don't know what to do with the rear trescher floor. It is rusty and there are many holes. Can I buy this part and use it to repaire the floor. Front side are really good but when I take out the fuel tank I saw rusty section. Look at
TAB-401-700 - UNIVERSAL CARGO FLOOR SECTION 59 INCHES LONG X 15 INCHES WIDE - BUS 50-67 (SHIPPING CHARGES APPLY)
Thanks for any sugestions |

Hi Jack,
Your English is much better than my Polish!! I have a 63 single cab and also had to repair the section under the fuel tank. I used a similar panel to the one you are looking at and cut it to fit, the problem with it is that it does not have the cutout for the fuel line take off, however I made do...
I have since put the divider back in.
In hindsight it may have been easier and neater to just replace the whole treasure chest floor with the correct panels but i'm not sure if anyone makes them. Klassicfab may make them but i'm not sure, I'm think they do the correct rocker panels. http://www.klassicfab.com They have distributors in the USA and UK
I also had to replace the tank supports. If you need them there is a guy on www.dropgates.com in the classified section who sells them as well as the straps. |

Thanks Jim (dziekuje - in polish)
In England there are so many Polish people I think you should try to learn a little Polish :D
Nice work Jim !!! I like it !!!
Thanks for the contact for tank supports. In my SC there isn't any aftere 44 years. I didn't relise that someone do it. I will buy it of course.
I will check all distributors to find a floor panels for SC. If the isn't any I will do the same work as you do.
What do you think about the the rocker panels? Can you help with it?
What do you do with this peace of metal on the floor where you screw the gas tank dividers? I think that I saw this repro part somewhere but now I can't find.
I'm new in forum and I don't know yet how to put the pics but I will try next time. So you could see my project.
Oh if you give me your email address I will send some pics of my truck of course.
See you |

I'm afraid I can't help with the rockers as I have not had to do this job on mine, fortunately they are quite solid.
The strip of metal that you can screw the dividers to is available from Klassicfab. However I re-used the one I had as it was ok, it is just spot welded in place.

Cool, good luck with it. I don't get much time to work on mine so it has taken much too long already to get where I am with it but I hope it will be on the road again before the summer is out.
I didn't enjoy working inside the confined space of treasure chest area.
Have a look at these threads for inspiration...
