Noob to the forum, but any input welcome.
Please forward if you know someone who would be interested, Thanks!!!
in Denver Colorado:
Over the next few weeks I'll be parting out or preparing to sell (which ever brings Torre the most $$$) this super-cool, RUNNING, 66' VW squareback 1600.
It's rough on just about every edge but tons of good parts and crazy style (check the red interior!!!)
Anyway, It'll have Kerri's wheels and type 1 1600cc motor by the time were done.
Holler if you're looking for something like this or know someone that's looking for that ever-so-rare squareback glass or gauge or whatever.
We're taking offers over $1,000 whole or in parts but the less work I gotta do the more flexible the price.
Here's a link to some pix:
http://scooterbbs.com/bbs/dcboard.php?az=show_topi...&page=
So if it were your's would you part it out or sell running?
Holler: 303-246-5506 for questions or more photos and thanks for looking!

| It would be a shame to part it. :( It looks mostly complete. Someone here will certainly want to buy it complete....more interior and engine pics if you have them |

STOP! What it appears you may have is a Pigalle. Does it have a red dash? I can see a red steering wheel but can't make out the dash. If it is a true Pigalle, it's worth more in-tact than in pieces.

Yup, it's one of those.
but the dash, front corner post liners and seats have been the victim of the high desert sun.
The dash is split right down the middle but definitely red.
I've had a few calls aready today and wont be making any decision for about a week but it's here in Denver and you're welcome to come see it or I'll post more pix soon.
I'm helping a friend who loved this car dearly but no longer has the time or space for it.
We're entertaining offers over $1000. Best one gets it.
More pix soon.
I know that the dash's and seats are still available. I'd much rather sell this car whole but I will be swapping the fuch wheels for the wife's chromies and possibly trading powerplants either way.
either way it will run and is mostly complete.
cheers,
Scott |

A running '66 Pigalle for around $1K? I'm sure somebody will swipe this up soon. Please don't put a Type 1 engine in it or part it out if you can help it.
Can you post some more pictures of it or put a proper ad up in the classifieds? |

Type 1 engine???
If someone here in the mid west wants to buy it, let me know. I have a car trailer and can haul it for the expenses. |

| Please don't install a Type 1 engine if you still have the original Type 3 one. Not only will you have overheating problems and no way to seal it off from the interior (exhaust fumes!), but there are a lot of people interested in Pigalle '66 Type 3s right now and you should try to keep it as complete and original as possible if you want to get the most $$$ out of it. |

| Put an add in the classifieds & that car will sell no problems. Please post some more photos of the interior. I think installing the type 1 engine will bring the price way down. Keep it original. |

My wife just informed me that I can buy no more cars. Else, I would be looking into buying this one.
I want a squareback, and this one is a pigalle on top of it.
Someone buy this car? |

I just pm'd the seller. I am in a similar situation with too many vehicles but I might be able to talk the wife into letting me have another square. I live an hour away from him so it is definitely worth my while |

Hey ya'll,
Thanks to Kris that stopped by and checked it out yesterday and to the guys at Nuvintage and Painters grinding for talking me out of the motor swap. (turns out I need a 68 or later type 3 motor/pancake to do what I'm trying to do)
Again, I will be working on it and having the suspension looked over the next week and will inform you all of my decision to part out or not at that point.
The good news is that there seems to be enough interest to keep it as a whole, (so long as someone actually buys it).
Over the next week, if you would like to stop by and see it, please PM or call me and we'll set it up.
otherwise best offer over $1,000 will get it.
thanks for all of the interest,
Scott |

From the link he posted:
"Our target price is $1,000 whole or in parts but the less work I gotta do the more of my $ i'll throw towards it."
I don't know about you, but to me that says the price is $1000, maybe less. |
