Has anyone purchased a steering wheel like this one from Mid America Motorworks?

If so, is the horn button pictured a hard plastic? I called and they couldn't answer that for me. |

looks like hard plastic.
It's typical their customer service people are clueless about their products. |

| I have one of these on my 64. Nice wheel for the money, and yes the horn button is a hard plastic. |

Yes, I asked if there was anyway they could find out for me and was told no.

Thanks. The problem I have with the Formuling wheel that's on my car now is that the rubber horn button has broken twice already. It's time to move on to something that won't break. The only thing I'm not too keen on is the 3 spoke setup on the wheel. My current wheel is 4 spoke and I tend to hold my steering wheel bottom center. Replacing it with a 3 spoke would mean that I'd have to change the comfortable way that I hold my steering wheel. |

| You mean you would have to hold the wheel in a more correct and safe position? |

Am I missing something or does it not say what size that wheel is?

No, you're not. The catalog does not state the size. I had to ask and I was told it was 14" o.d.

Odd, the catalog I have lists it as 12 inches. Typical MAM... |

Thanks guys. It is far from perfect, but I think it's a pretty solid little car. It was my daily driver for 5 years. Now I drive it at least once a week. |

I too have that steering wheel and can attest to the size being 12". It is comfortable and well made. The lil Wolfsburg logo is a thin sheet of aluminum glued to a plastic horn button. I suggest spraying a quick coat of clear on it or putting a piece of clear 3M protector over it. It scratches SUPER easily and mind looks like crap. :(
Other than that one little foible it's been fantastic. :) |
