Has anybody gotten an eyeball on this boat l'orange square in Olympia WA?

Just curious about the typical rust issues if anybody's seen it.

Judging by the pictures, that grass has probably done quite the number on the pan and rockers, as is typical.

Why do people do this to cars? Its such a waste to let the grass eat up the body, when all you had to do was put it on gravel or blocks, and keep up with the lawn!

Seller Dave says it's only been parked for about a year, and it looks pretty fresh, that grass. Looks like there might be a bubble at the bottom drivers front fender, antenna thing. Curious also about inner rear fender drain tube rot.

And the windshield drivers side, low.

I should just get on a train and go buy the thing...

Looks overpriced to me. They "always" look better from 10 feet away.

Heck, my POS rustbucket ghia DD looks like a show car from 20 feet away.

I get so many comments about what an awesome car that I am embarrassed because I know what a POS itactually is. but I love it and drive it anyway.

Here in the NW, if you watch out, you should be able to find solid DD square or fasty's for around $2,000- $2,500.

I like your idea of taking the train up there with your cash! If you don't like it, just take the train home again. Still gotta remember they're ALL got some rust in them!

Looks overpriced to me.

I found my '71 Squareback in Seattle last fall for half that amount. No sunroof, but was (is) a very well maintained one owner car, with some of the usual rust spots etc. IMHO you should be able to find a nice one in the PNW for far less than the 4 grand he's asking.

I agree, pretty much. Sunroof's got me. His price might be squishy.

It's hard to find anything reasonably priced in/around SF that's good to very-good or something that hasn't been hipster thrashed. He'd sell that here for not much less esp. if his parts hoard is beefy.
Fer instance:

If either had a (broken) sunroof they could easily add a grand to the asking price.

Minus paint you can spend this:

But OrangeOlympia's got that dern steel slider...

both of those cars seem overpriced to me for this area. I'll keep a look out up here(an hour north of you) for one for you.
